LOL. I always wonder how people keep up the drama on reality TV. It must get extremely exhausting.

If there had to be a reality TV show about my life - I wouldn’t last 2 episodes. I am so boring but I love everything about my boring life! The law books, the gyming, the laying in bed skyping/chatting with my boyfriend (who is over 9,000 miles away) till one of us falls asleep - my life looks dull to a lot of people but I’m grateful for it.

After this morning’s workout, I decided to send the BFF a picture of my non-existent guns. Yeah! Haha. 

I hit the gym yesterday evening and I learnt to never ever go around that time! I was the little girl in the weights area, surrounded by 20 (or more) big men hogging who were hogging everything… It was so uncomfortable that I did cut my workout a bit short and opted for machines most of the time.

I’m going to stick to my morning sessions until I’m more confident with lifting.

oat & honey cereal with skim milk
protein shake
leftover dinner: the awesome oven-baked chicken with parsnip & salad
apple & protein shake
whole-wheat pasta with turkey slices, portabello mushrooms, salad
Today:
non-fat vanilla yoghurt with a dash of cinnamon
oat & honey cereal with skim milk
whole-wheat pasta with canned salmon, portabello mushrooms, salad
banana & soy-latte
remaining canned salmon, portabello mushrooms & salad
I’m exhausted and I can’t bring myself to cook a proper dinner. Maybe a little bit later. I had a horrible session at spin class this morning where both my calves decide to cramp up. Now, I’m having chest pains *shrugs* nothing a few hours of sleep won’t fix. On a different note, I’m loving the clean eating but as a student, eating healthy can get pricey :( I need to figure out how to eat clean on a strict budget!

I’m only on week 2 of my training program and maybe I’m being awfully ambitious but I wish I was strong enough for the heavier weights already :(
I did barbell squats - sans any weight FYI, and bloody hell! Haha it was not easy. I enjoyed it though and I know it’s going to take time but I’m impatient.
Also, this is week 1 of pure clean cuisine. Last week was not exactly a great week in terms of the food I was consuming - lots of junk and lots of the usual skipped meals (never on purpose! I tend to camp out in the library and uni for 6-10 hours straight… Everyday. NERD ALERT). I’m determined to stick to the change this week and do my best at keeping it up for at least 28 days.
I normally keep a diary of my day-to-day meals but I’m going to attempt to start  noting them down here to make myself accountable for what I eat.
Yesterdays meals included:
oat & honey cereal with skim milk
salad with hard-boiled eggs
loads more salad with turkey breast
oven-baked chicken breasts marinated in greek yoghurt, curry powder and paprika with parsnips (I LOVE PARSNIPS) and greens on the side

Kicking & Screaming!

A dear friend of mine introduced me to the once-upon-a-time intimidating world of iron pumping. She is about a month in and I am so proud and amazed by her progress. She encouraged me to give it a go, so I started by going to a few body pump/conditioning classes to ease my way in.

I will never look back!

Yes, I do get self-conscious when I make my way to the ‘boys club’ but I remind myself that I am there for me and tell myself that a lot of them probably don’t even notice I’m there! It’s more likely to be true… I mean, would you really notice the coming and goings of strangers when you got a barbell resting on your shoulder?

I’m still on really light weights and I’ve been spending my time focusing on my form… But I will get there eventually. I’m determined :)
